Merry Christmas From All at Caldicot Town Team
2025 has been a busy and rewarding year for Caldicot Town Team and our incredible team of volunteers. As the year draws to a close, it feels like the right moment to reflect on what has been achieved and to thank everyone who has played a part in delivering another successful year of events, projects and support for our local community.
Throughout the year, we delivered a wide range of events that brought people into Caldicot and helped create a lively, welcoming town centre. These included our seasonal markets such as the St David’s Day Market and the Easter Fun Market, where over 100 Easter eggs were given out to children taking part in our Easter hunt.
We were proud to host our 9th 999 Emergency Services Day in the beautiful grounds of Caldicot Castle, celebrate Armed Forces Day with a town centre street party, and bring families together for our Ye Olde Family Fun Day, featuring retro games, live performers and activities throughout the day. We also delivered our second animal-based event, The Really Wild Show, which proved once again to be a firm family favorite.
CORE Caldicot continued to grow as a community hub throughout 2025. We supported over 35 traders by providing affordable indoor trading space, helping local independent businesses develop and reach new customers. Our Prom Shop inside CORE provided an affordable and sustainable option for young people across the community, while our warm space café, soft play and welcoming environment continued to support residents of all ages.
Creative and well-being activities also played a key role this year. Our crafting groups and classes, alongside other workshops and sessions, provided regular opportunities for people to learn new skills, meet others and enjoy time together. Events such as our Halloween Craft and 3D Printing Party highlighted just how much can be achieved within the space.
We closed the year with our Christmas Market, hosting 30 traders across the town centre, with festive activities and visits from Father Christmas inside CORE Caldicot. Our first pantomime at CORE showcased the flexibility of the space and the appetite for performance-based entertainment, with early conversations already underway to bring more shows to Caldicot in 2026.
None of this would have been possible without our dedicated team of volunteers and directors. All are unpaid, and collectively they have contributed over 6,000 hours this year. Their commitment, passion and hard work are truly invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they do.
Looking ahead, Caldicot Town Team is developing ambitious plans for 2026 that aim to support town centre businesses, increase footfall and encourage greater local economic spend. We’re excited about what’s next.
Finally, we would like to thank everyone who has supported us in so many ways, by attending events, visiting CORE Caldicot, using our facilities, shopping at our markets, taking part in classes, or simply spreading the word. Your support makes everything we do possible, and we look forward to another exciting year ahead.
