Caldicot Town Team Partners with the Department for Work & Pensions to Support Local Jobseekers

Caldicot Town Team is delighted to announce a new partnership with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), providing voluntary work experience opportunities for individuals who are seeking employment.

Through a range of community projects, events and initiatives, participants will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in a supportive environment while making a positive contribution to the local community.

The Department for Work & Pensions said:

DWP are pleased to be working in partnership with Caldicot Town Team who are providing invaluable work experience placements to help our individuals.

Work experience provides individuals who have little or no work-related skills the opportunity to gain valuable, meaningful experience within a workplace.

This can help them get back into the routine of working again. It supports individuals into employment, apprenticeships, or training. It also gives individuals the opportunity to show they have both job role specific skills and core employability skills.

For example:

  • time management
  • organisational skills
  • communication skills
  • team working skills.

Aaron Reeks, Director of Caldicot Town Team, welcomed the partnership, saying:

“We’re incredibly proud to be working alongside the Department for Work & Pensions to provide these voluntary work experience opportunities. As a community organisation, we’re committed to creating opportunities that not only support local people but also help them develop the confidence and practical skills needed to move towards employment.”

He added:

“Our volunteers are involved in a wide variety of projects, from community events and town centre initiatives to marketing, administration and creative projects. Every placement is designed to provide meaningful experience while giving individuals the opportunity to make a genuine difference within their community.”

The partnership reflects Caldicot Town Team’s ongoing commitment to supporting the local community and helping people build brighter futures through practical experience, personal development and community involvement.

Anyone interested in these opportunities should speak to their DWP Work Coach for more information.
