CORE Caldicot Launches Community Market Hall Project
CORE Caldicot is launching an ambitious, community-led refurbishment to transform its shop space into a new Community Market Hall.
The project will begin on 17 January 2026 until 25th January and will bring together local tradespeople, businesses and volunteers to help create something lasting for the town.
Thanks to the incredibily generous donation of fixtures and fittings from a local retailer, the space will be re-imagined to provide a welcoming environment for semi-permanent traders, local makers, market traders and community groups.
This is a DIY SOS-style project, led by the community and built with local support. The aim is not simply to redecorate a shop, but to create a shared space that strengthens the town centre, supports local enterprise and gives people an affordable, accessible place to trade and connect.
As a CORE Caldicot spokesperson explains:
“We’re not just refurbishing a unit. We’re creating a shared space that supports local people, local traders and the future of our town centre. The response so far has been incredibly positive, and we’d love more people to be part of building something that belongs to the whole community.”
To make this project a reality, CORE Caldicot is inviting support from anyone able to donate time, skills, materials or products.
We are particularly looking for support from:
- Carpenters and joiners
- Painters and decorators
- Electricians
- Flooring specialists
- Shopfitters
- Local businesses able to donate building or decorating materials
Every contribution will directly support a community-run project, with all supporters publicly acknowledged throughout the build and beyond.
If you would like to get involved or support the project, please contact CORE Caldicot directly via phone/Whatsapp on 07985 102024, email us at caldicottownteam@outlook.com or drop us a direct message through our Caldicot Town Team Socials.
