Here at Caldicot Town Team, we understand the importance of supporting independent businesses in our community. CORE Caldicot is a collective of independent retailers, who all sell products in our shop, Since we opened CORE Caldicot in December 2022 we have seen firsthand the numerous benefits that come from this partnership. If you’re an independent retailer, perhaps someone who regularly sells at markets, or someone who runs their business online from home, then we can offer you a pitch, wether short or long term in CORE Caldicot.
Caldicot is a wonderful little town, providing an accessible town centre, along with the fantastic Caldicot Castle & Country Park. Caldicot also offers access to the Wales Coastal Path and is just a stones throw away from Caerwent, home of the Roman Remains and the Tribal capital of the Silures (Venta Silurum) Caldicot town centre offers independent cafes, supermarkets and independent businesses, including a Butcher, Card Shop, Photography Studio, Hairdressers, nail bars and more all with with free parking.
CORE Caldicot, offers a diverse range of products from independent businesses, we have attracted a wider audience to our shop. Customers are drawn to unique and locally-made items, which has resulted in an increase in foot traffic and sales. This has not only benefited the independent businesses we partner with but has also helped to boost our own revenue, which is vital for our community investment and projects.
Caldicot Town Team is a not for profit community interest company, run wholly by volunteers with its purposes including social and economical benefit to Caldicot as well as a focus on events, projects and environmental benefits.
Caldicot Town Team has been running since 2014 and has helped to deliver dozens of projects and events in its 10 year history.
Supporting independent businesses is essential for the growth of our town and vitality of our community. Bringing traders into CORE Caldicot and allowing the sale of products in our shop, we are able to contribute to the success of these entrepreneurs and help them thrive in a competitive market. This support fosters a sense of community pride and solidarity, as we work together to build a vibrant and sustainable local economy.
A unique benefit of trading with Caldicot Town Team is CORE Caldicot is the ability to sell products even if owners are not on site. CORE Caldicot is run by a group of enthusiastic, passionate and capable volunteers. This means that traders do not need to be at CORE Caldicot all the time as our setup and volunteers allows us to sell your products for you, at no extra cost to the business!
CORE Caldicot is not just a retail shop, offering a free soft play area for babies and toddlers featuring a ball pit, climbing frame, slide, building blocks and toys. CORE Caldicot also benefits from a Warm Space Cafe, providing hot and cold drinks for those who need it, the warm space cafe is self serve and is free to take advantage of, donations are greatly accepted. As well as these, CORE Cadldicot also runs projects for young people, with a huge indoor 10 metre half pipe skate ramp for those who are keen on skateboarding, roller skating and scooter riders. CORE Caldicot has a heart focussed on its community and is proud to be able to be diverse, inclusive and help not just the community but adds to the local economy and wider society.
