Important Changes To 999 Emergency Services Day 2023

Caldicot Town Team have had to make some last minute changes to Caldicot’s 999 Emergency Services Day on Sunday 6th August, that affects all visitors to this fantastic event.

With the event just a month away, being held on Sunday 6th August 2023 at Caldicot Castle & Country park, we wanted to update all visitors as quickly as we could to give ample notice of changes.

Although we have previously just charged for entry for the event by car, meaning those on foot can enter the event for free, Caldicot Town Team is not allowed to charge for car parking this year unless we pay for exclusive hire of Caldicot Castle & Country Park. Exclusive hire of the site is 3 times the amount of the normal fee we would expect to pay for the event.

As was standard practice for our 999 day in previous years, those visiting the Castle & Country Park for other means than our event would not be charged to enter by car, for example those walking dogs, visiting the children’s park or football club etc, However this is not an acceptable compromise to MonLife (who run Caldicot Castle & Country Park) and we would need to pay the Exclusive fee to charge by car this year.

This means that unfortunately we have had to take the decision to charge all visitors entry to the main event field, where the 999 Emergency Services Day is held on, rather than per car as in previous years.

This change has not been an easy decision for Caldicot Town Team, we pride ourselves hugely on being able to offer free to enter events, especially for local residents. We believe that there is huge economical benefit in our method for car park charging in previous years as it means more income coming into the area from those visiting outside of Caldicot.

Our 999 Emergency Services day has always been a massive success in previous years and this means that the profits made from the event has paid for our Family Fun Day and our Street Food Events which we hold annually.

We have kept charging as simple and easy as possible, entry to the 999 Emergency Services Day is £2 per person, payable on entry to the main event field. Free car parking is available on site, and the rest of the Castle grounds are open and free to access for all visitors.

For those who have already made payment and booked car parking via our website, we will be in touch via email giving you details of the next steps.

The team really do hope that the changes in entry does not put you off attending, the event has lots of activities and displays throughout the day and has lots to offer.

You can prebook your tickets online, using the button below or you can pay on the day. There is no price difference for paying on day verses paying online.

We really look forward to seeing you on Sunday 6th August 2023.
