Another Closure Hits Caldicot Town Centre

Caldicot Town Team have learned today that Lloyds Bank in Caldicot town centre will be closing in early 2023, causing another blow to the town centre and in turn means there is no longer an open bank within Caldicot.

Lloyds bank, which is the last bank in Caldicot will be closing in January 2023 due to declining customers. The decision, made on the back of a performance review carried out in March 2022 found that branch transactions from businesses are down 55% in the 5 year to March 2022 and personal customer branch transactions are down by 50%.

The average number of customers using the branch each month is 269 in the 12 months to March 2022.

Cashpoint use is also down, by 42% for personal customers and 11% for businesses customers.

The branch closes in January 2023 which will mean the nearest branch will be over 5 miles away in neighbouring Chepstow.
