Welsh Market Raises Funds For Eisteddfod
Caldicot Town Team organised a specialised market on Saturday April 16th to raise money and celebrate Eisteddfod 2016 taking place in Monmouthshire between 29th July and August 5th.
Members of Caldicot Town Team sold raffle tickets, with the main prize a Peugeot 108, donated by Keith Price Garages of Abergavenny.
Lots of welsh traders enjoyed the day, with many of them wanting to return back to Caldicot market in the future. Caldicot Male Voice Choir had a stall at the event, selling the choir CD’s and seeking out new members. Jeff Williams commented “Its been a good day for the choir, lots of people to speak to and a number of CD’s sold. The organisers should be pleased with the day.”
Pitch fees for the day were donated to the Eisteddfod along with 50% of the donations received by Caldicot Town Team. A Total of £250 will be presented to the Chepstow & Caldicot Eisteddfod Committee.
