Volunteers Week – A Special Thanks

As part of Volunteers Week, we wanted to give a special thanks to a couple of people who do a significant amount to enhance the area we all live in.

Cathy Edwards

Cathy has worked with SLS for the last few years, with her shop, Country Flowers being a main drop off point in Caldicot. All year round Cathy accepts in all the donations given by locals, to help the homeless in South Wales and Bristol. Before getting involved with SLS Cathy also helped the Save Our Soldiers, again by being a drop off point for the town. She is the secretary for Serenata Ladies Choir. Cathy has also been a director for Caldicot Town Team for the last 2 and a half years. Always one to help out community groups where she can, all whilst keeping running a local family business, Country Flowers.

Rachel Furmage

Rachel set up Caldicot Community Working Together page on facebook around 12 weeks ago, and has made great inroads with bringing locals back into the town centre. With regular raffles on her facebook page and her work towards Caldicot Carnival 2018, Rachel has helped bring a breath of fresh air into Caldicot. Rachel has also worked with SLS over the last couple of years, and frequently helps out with taking care of the homeless.
