Volunteering Helps Revitalise Town Centre
A Caldicot businesswoman has spoken about her experience of volunteering and encourages others to consider giving up some of their free time to help the wider community.
Rachel Grumbach began volunteering on Caldicot Town Team in the summer and is now one of 4 directors.
She explained: “The team is all about regenerating Caldicot town centre and helping to revitalise it. This is challenging, although we have started to take big steps. The events we put on working, such as the Funday, Christmas lights switch-on and fireworks evening, are really starting to change people’s perceptions of the Town Team and benefits of Volunteering.
“We always need more people to come forward to help and share their views on how we can improve Caldicot for everyone.
“It has been really rewarding and I get great satisfaction from it, as it is helping the community and local businesses.”
Caldicot Town Team is a community group, made up of businesses, residents and landlords. It aims to create a better, more vibrant, economically prosperous town.
