Planning Submitted For Another Takeaway In Caldicot Town Centre
Planning permission has been applied to Monmouthshire County Council for a change of use for 9 Newport Road, (Previously Empire Vapes and Cobblers Pride) from an A1 retail unit to an A3 takeaway (Hot Food)
Landlords have applied for the change of use and submitted documentation to Monmouthshire County Council on October 8th 2019.
The planning permission includes a new shop frontage sign for the takeaway unit, which from the documentation, states it is an Indian takeaway.
Caldicot Town Team feel that the change of use for the premises in town is not an appropriate move for the future and variety of our town moving forward. Whilst we do appreciate that an empty unit looks detrimental to the town, by bringing in more service based units, it is stifling the retail offer in the town centre. We will be submitting our thoughts and concerns regarding this in more detail to Monmouthshire County Council.
