Celebrating Our Small Businesses

Today, (June 27th) is International Small Business Day, Thanking all small independent businesses for always being there when we need them most

Today is a day of celebration, for all those who are the backbone of our economy and employment throughout the country.

According to the data provided by the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), formal and informal Micro-, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) make up over 90% of all firms and account on average for 60-70% of total employment and 50% of GDP.

On June 27, 2017, the General Assembly of the United Nations, declared that date as the International Day of Micro-enterprises and Small and Medium Enterprises, recognising its importance and value.

Thanks to small businesses, a chai lover can find the perfect cosy tea house. A gardener can find the hardiest perennial. A toothache can find relief via the nearest dentist. A stained shirt can find a dry cleaner, and so much more. Here’s to all the small businesses for always being just around the corner. We’ll see you soon.
