A Fresh Look For Caldicot Town Centre

Work has started to improve Caldicot town centre, in a joint project between Monmouthshire County Council and Caldicot Town Team.

As part of a larger project which is hoping to include new seating and planting areas throughout the town centre, work has commenced on improving the look and feel of the existing town.

The weeds throughout the town have been sprayed and will be removed within the next two weeks. Planters have been planted with roses, and summer bedding will be added shortly to add a splash of colour to the town.

Contractors have been commissioned to repaint all the benches, lampposts, bollards and cycle racks in black, work will commence on this on Monday 29th May.

The white canopies above shop units are also being rubbed down and repainted to improve the look of the town.

Caldicot Town Team volunteers will be over the next few weeks painting the alley between jubilee way car park and the town centre as well as repainting all the rear of the shops in Jubilee Way car park. The Town Team portacabin in the car park will also be repainted.

Work will be completed on this phase by the middle of June, in time for the large events taking place in Caldicot during July.

Work is also being carried out for Caldicot in Bloom, with new hanging baskets and planted to be placed throughout the town over the next couple of months.

Volunteers are encouraged to take part in our projects, contact can be made throughout our website, or social media outlets.
