Caldicot Town Team hosted the annual Family Fun Day in Caldicot Town Centre on Friday 2nd August.
The Fun Day, which included lots of new attractions for 2019 was a great success.
With the warm weather and lots of new attractions we were really pleased the event went so well and so many of the locals and visitors came along to visit.
With the new attractions from Aardman Animations, a Slime workshop and the dinosaur show it really added a great feeling to the event.
The balloon modeller made hundreds of shapes, animals and items throughout the day. We are so proud of Imogen Watling who through her Talent Mayhem Event last weekend made a huge £313 towards the Family Fun Day
Alpacas, with fur like thick pile carpet also attracted large crowds, these placid animals were more than happy to pose for pictures with the little ones, even some big ones!
As always, the Live Dinosaur show was a brilliant crowd puller, and scared the living daylights out of a couple of unsuspecting kids enjoying the show. They will definitely be back next year, so make sure you pop it in your diary.
Caldicot Rugby Club under 9’s also has a busy day, raising over £130 for the club. Well done!
Congratulations to those who entered and won prizes in our Raffle, Chinese Tombola and Win A Teddy games. The lucky winners are shown below in our live video on Facebook.
Aardman Animations Clay Workshop was a first for Caldicot Town Team and was well received. with visitors able to make a clay model of Gromit, Shaun The Sheep or Feathers McGraw. The designer from Aardman Animations helped the little create some excellent characters.
All in all, a good day was had by all. Local businesses benefitted from the increased footfall in the town centre, the children had lots of fun, and most importantly it didn’t rain. A long day for our volunteers, some starting at 4am in the morning to get it all ready, but all finished and away by 7:30pm.
