Welsh Market Raises Funds For Eisteddfod

Caldicot Town Team organised a specialised market on Saturday April 16th to raise money and celebrate Eisteddfod 2016 taking place in Monmouthshire between 29th July and August 5th. Members of Caldicot Town Team sold raffle tickets, with the main prize a Peugeot 108, donated by Keith Price Garages of Abergavenny. Lots of welsh traders enjoyed the day, with many of them wanting to return back to Caldicot market in the future. Caldicot Male Voice Choir had a stall at the event, selling the choir CD’s and seeking out new members.…

A Very Welsh Market

Unfortunately, due to clashes with specialist markets taking place across South Wales, Caldicot’s “A Very Welsh Market” will now take place on Saturday 16th April. Stalls and Gazebos will still be available at the original price of £15. Any bookings made for the original market will automatically receive a stall, should they be available to rebook. Eisteddfod Proclamation Information

With only a few days to go until the proclamation ceremony at Caldicot Castle, and with preparations in full swing, we have included some useful information for anyone intending on visiting during this historic event. Registration for Marshals/Volunteers will be at 9:30 in Caldicot Town Centre The Market, activities and music will start in the town centre from 10:00 The procession will leave Caldicot town centre at about 14:15 and make its way down Church Road, before entering the Castle. Eisteddfod Road Closure Information

Due to the proclamation at Caldicot Castle on 27th June 2015, rolling road closures have been put in place to allow the procession to walk from Caldicot town centre into the Castle. Road closures will take place on; Chepstow Road – from the Asda car park entrance to the mini roundabout at Jubilee Way/Sandy Lane from approx 2:30pm until approx 3:00pm.
