Long Awaited Regneration Plans Gets Green Light

The first phase of Caldicot’s regeneration plans has been given the green light, with the first phase of the work to be started on The Cross development due to start within a week.

The first phase in the improvement works on The across area of Caldicot town centre is starting on Monday September 30th.

Monmouthshire County Council have released this statement regarding the plans;

Monmouthshire County Council are delighted to inform you that works are due to commence on the Caldicot Cross Destination Space from Monday 30 September.

The successful company contracted to deliver the works is Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd.  The works will continue for approximately 30 weeks, completing early May, 2020.

A letter and a phase plan will be hand delivered tomorrow to businesses and the contractor’s Public Liaison Officer, Georgie Griffiths will be visiting all Town Centre businesses on Monday, offering the opportunity to question what to expect and listen to any requirements you may have to minimise disruption.

This is fantastic news that shows that the commitment made over the last 5 years by all parties is finally beating fruits, the first of many projects that is going to enrich our town centre, revitalise and vastly improve the town we all work, live and play in.

We will of course keep you up to date with all the latest information regarding the plans and development of the works as it progresses. Most importantly of all, we would like to appreciate that there will be some inconvenience to businesses and to visitors of the town centre, however we will do all that we can to support them while this improvement works takes place to make our town become more modern, user friendly and a more appealing place for everyone.
