Final Design plans have been published for the redevelopment of Caldicot Town Centre, click the link to continue the journey toward a modern and enhanced town centre.
Earlier this month Architects Roberts Limbrick and Chris Jones Regen consulted with the public regarding up to date plans for the transformation of Caldicot Town Centre. The results of the consultation and the final design plans are below for you to see.
We will also be holding a second live webinar event on Thursday 25th March at 6pm, where the designer and project team will discuss the final proposals and follow with a live question and answer session. You can register for the live webinar via the following link Caldicot Town Centre – Our Proposals
The public were asked a series of questions;
Next, the public were asked to make a statement regarding the town centre, giving their opinions, interests, issues and needs;
After asking the public to review the proposals, their opinions were sought on the improvements and the effect this may have on them;
With all the data collected from the public, along with all the previous engagements and public consultations that have been completed, the team set about in revising some of the plans to best suit the needs of the public. Below is a gallery of images, showing how Caldicot Town Centre will look, once the works have been completed. It is important to note that the designs show refurbished units as well, however this is part of a separate funding process called the Urban Property Enhancement Fund and is reliant on landlords or tenants investing in work alongside receiving grant funding to make these improvements.
Next we move onto close up images of the town centre and supporting active travel to the area, seating, cycle racks etc. This will give you an idea of how the different features will work together and compliment each other;
Last but not least on the plan images, the team have looked at how the space can be utilised for more outdoor events. It is widely believed that town centres will become much more than just retail spaces in the future and its something that Caldicot Town Team believe and have been promoting for some time. The idea for a Tensile structure to provide cover for areas of the town centre have been explored and images below show how this would look. not a permanent feature perhaps, but something that can be used when events or leisure activities are taking place in town.
