As part of the national Great Big Green Week, from 18th – 26th September, Caldicot Town Team are working with Climate Cymru and local partners to produce a week long schedule of events.
The Great Big Green Week is the largest event for climate and nature ever seen in the UK. Thousands of events will be taking place throughout the UK across the week. You can play a part in the project too.
Booklets have been created for members of the public to collect and detail your thoughts and action about climate change and the future.
Authors will then shape articles out of the topics journaled and will be collated into a notebook which will be Caldicot’s Climate Story
We are seeing the impacts of extreme weather events caused by climate change on the people and places we love both here in the UK and abroad. The time is now to do everything we can to protect them. Climate change is the fight of our lifetime.
This year, we in the UK have a huge opportunity to raise the ambition of plans to tackle climate change at home and abroad. The UK is hosting a major UN climate summit, known as COP26, in Glasgow this November. This means parliament and local authorities alike want to be seen as ambitious in tackling climate change.
The Time is Now for a Great Big Green Week that sets the stage for the most ambitious climate summit ever.
Booklets can be collected from Caldicot Goes Pop! And Ladybird Pottery from today.
Caldicot School will also be taking part throughout the week and will have access to a special video by David Attenborough talking about the serious effects of Climate Change.
